So yeah, I’ve been living in this little pad for almost a month now, So I’m gonna try and come with a list of to try or do when you’re in a situation quite like mine. Lemme see what I can jot down. Errrmmm Yeah, so the list starts here
.) The hard part is usually the first night you spend in your apartment, pad, or condo. Soft and Mellow Instrumental Melodies could help with the blues and don’t hold it in. Let it out. Cry if you have to, you’ll feel a lot better.
.) Try learning something new. You could read and actually finish a book or you could let your imagination and creativity run free. Who knows? You could be the next Thomas Edison!
.) Living alone could actually help you mature. After weeks, months or even years living independently. You should’ve learned how to look after yourself in terms of hygiene, cook yourself some breakfast, lunch or dinner. You could wash your own clothes, Wash the dishes. Try doing stuff that you don’t normally do yourself. I could relate to this. I’m a pampered son of a gun so months of solitary confinement could actually be good for me. Hahahaha.
.) Well, if you have wheels (A car, Motorbike or whatever the case) it might actually be a good idea to get out and explore the local scene. Meet new friends, have fun and just look at the brighter side of life. Eventually, we’ll all learn how to appreciate the littlest things that life gives us. You could also tinker with your vehicle a bit, do some detailing or something that haven’t had the chance to do at home.
.) Try Meditating. It helps. Know yourself a bit better. Know your strengths, weaknesses and everything else that might need a little polish. Meditation helps you relax and release the tension you’ve built up during the week days. You’ll do better at, in school and at home. Try listening to Yiruma, Hans Zimmer, Kenny G, Israel kamakawiwo ole’ (A big hawaiin guy with a Gigantic heart to match, gifted with an angelic soulful voice, he brings crowds by the thousands) and the acoustic prodigy, Sungha Jung. Try and look them up.
.) Make a to do list of your daily routine and what you have to do. Don’t be a cowboy.
Be organized, Tidy and Responsible. Discipline comes a long way too bud. It’s gonna hard in the beginning but things will eventually get easier in the days to come. I’m still working on this bit myself, So don’t too feel bad.
.) Exercise. You know your supplies are limited so you might wanna slow down on the intake of food. So this little independence could actually do you good. I’m working on this crap too, I’ve gained a couple of pounds and got my self a beer belly and a double chin, and when you’re into drag racing, and an aspiring aviator. That additional weight wouldn’t be much of an advantage. Look at me, I’m Fat and Furious (Get it? Me? Drag Race?, The Movie? Fat? I guess I have to work on my material too).
.) Oh yeah. Try to save money. Now that you’re living much closer to your workplace, school or whatever the case, You can save on gas and fare. Saving a few pesos never hurts and If you’re able to save enough of it or you could go rob a bank or something then maybe you could actually use it to buy something you've been meaning to have.
.) And dude, don’t forget to bring a first aid kit and a couple of medications with you. A few Pain-killers and Paracetamols could really come in handy (Imagine, the walking dead. I’m just messing with you. hahaha). Almost forgot, A sewing kit would do you good to, Just in case.
.) Write a blog! Kill Time, Have fun and Share. Who knows, It just might be your lucky break.
