Late Post

June 24, 2014

It’s a Tuesday, and it’ll be a couple of days till my next trip home. I’m slowly getting used to the silence, the loneliness and the constant feeling of homesickness that seems to take toll on you after a few days of living in a place that your are mostly unfamiliar with. But so far, I’ve been doing quite well. I’ve got a TV, a DVD player, a little sub woofer and this handy little notebook to screw around with. But Unfortunately, This place has no internet connection which will prohibit me from updating my blog in the next few days. So I’ll have to encode my journal into this notebook and post the articles on weekends when I get home.
It’s been quite an adventure and an eye-opener really, for someone like me who grew up pampered and spoon fed. Living independently provides a new and exciting challenge which will strengthen you emotionally and mentally. You quickly learn about independence, responsibility and discipline which will ultimately make life easier in the future when you’ve graduated, applied and started working as a professional in the airline industry. Whether, you’re a pilot, an aircraft mechanic, an avionics specialist and all other fields associated with aeronautics. Learning to live independently will go a long way, and so will discipline and responsibility, and as for me, living in an unfamiliar territory filled with unfamiliar people will serve as a training ground for me to adjust in all aspects of life. This year long stay will hopefully strengthen me emotionally, mentally, socially, spiritually and physically as I continue to reach for my dreams to be a professional airline aviator crossing miles and miles of sea and land to reach the destination.

And if you’re wondering about the place I’m currently residing in, it’s actually not that bad. A Cool evening breeze, a peacefully quiet atmosphere, friendly neighbors and the roar of wide-bodied aircraft taking-off and landing echoing in the horizon, and the fact that I’m a aeronautics student who’s crazy about aircraft and whatnot only adds to coolness of the place. My Boarding house is located in Bankal, Lapu-Lapu City which is about 2 kilometers from Indiana Aerospace University, compared to the earlier years of my education in which I had to travel an average of 40 kilometers everyday to get to school and back (I live in Talisay City btw, and it’s about 23 kilometers from Talisay City to Lapu-Lapu City and would prolly take me about 30 – 45 minutes of driving on a motorcycle and 45 – 130 minutes in an automobile depending on traffic conditions). Oh yeah, I’m about to start my Pilot’s Ground Course (PGC) at Adventure Flight Inc. which costs PHP 45,000 (Not even a quarter of the cost when I’ll start my flying lessons and man does it burn a hole in my parent’s pockets but it soon payoff, a little more and I’ll be a professional). This brings me one step closer to my dream of soaring through the skies inside a 20 ton flying behemoth.

I’m gonna have to stop here and I’m gonna have to make my blog a bit more creative and useful other than boring posts about personal experiences and happenings. Soon I may be able to post tips about everything about anything which will hopefully give me more followers in return. So, this is the Introvert Neanderthal Signing out. Till next time.
